We love our community & we love making. We are bringing them together for a very special charity event that will be part of the Forest Hill Fashion Week (18th – 21st September).

Over 24 hours we (YOU!) will attempt to make a record breaking 120 high quality hand knitted garments that will go on sale during FHFW and beyond. All proceeds will go to the charity http://www.onegirl.org.au

Close Knit is about bringing the community together to create and make with a purpose. Empowering through making.

We need you! We need as many volunteers as possible to make this event happen. We will be arm knitting reusing old textiles and yarns to make high quality finished pieces. There will be arm knitting workshops in the run up to the event and you need have no previous knitting experience. Its easy!!

We are asking for donations of old t-shirts and blankets that can be repurposed into yarn. We are asking for any languishing chunky yarns from your stash that could be parted with.

We are asking for sponsorship for our event by any means; refreshments for the troops, yarn, music, sweeties, space, publicity!

Arm Knitting workshops to be held at Stag & Bow;

Tuesday 2nd September – 6.30 – 8pm

Wednesday 3rd September – 10am 12 pm

Thursday 4th September – 6.30 – 8pm

The event itself will take place from 10am Saturday 13th to 10am Sunday 14th September.
