#3 Inspiration | Aled Lewis

There are some of us who like Star Wars and then there are some of us who REALLY like Star Wars!

We are guessing that London based artist, Aled Lewis falls into the second category. With a bit of help from his friends and family, Aled has created this amazing crossover of sci-fi, old historic artefacts and traditional craft, more specifically cross stitching.Titled ‘The Coruscant Tapestry’, it is a 30’x13″ visual depiction of the entire  ‘Star Wars’ series from ‘Episode I: The Phantom Menace’ to ‘Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi’ with Aurebesh script surrounding the borders. “The Bayeux Tapestry was my starting point and inspiration,” admits creator Aled, “The ‘Coruscant Tapestry’ is very much homage to that.”

“The Coruscant Tapestry” is currently on display at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles as part of Lewis’ Just Pixels solo show.

For those of you who have that want urge then you are in luck and its up for sale! On the downside, the asking price is $20,000, just under 12K (£). So perhaps this isn’t the tapestry you’re looking for.
